If you are anything like me, pumpkin spice runs through your veins in the fall! I will have anything spiced with pumpkin and I knew I could find ways to make it healthier so I can indulge in my addiction without getting the pumpkin spiced bloat! Here are 3 ways you can make your PSL healthier:
1) Starbucks - this company made the PSL famous, so if you love the Starbucks PSL, how can you make it healthier? I'm sure you are rolling your eyes and thinking - no whipped cream and you are correct, that does help but you can go further without giving up any delicious flavour. When making your latte ask for coconut milk instead of regular milk and 1/4 sweet (1 pump of the pumpkin spice syrup). Not only will you be decreasing the sugar content but keeping a grande latte under 250 calories*.
2) Make your own! This is SUPER easy and not exactly a latte but you still get your treat.
Easy SelfLove PSL Recipe:
1 dark roast T-cup or K-cup
1 tbsp pumpkin puree
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/8 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 tbsp whipped coconut (recipe provided here)
Sweetleaf stevia to taste
Throw the pumpkin puree and spice into a mug. Make your coffee as usual into the same mug. Add the milk and sweeten to your taste with the Stevia. Add the coconut whipped cream and ENJOY!
3) Make your own but with real espresso! It is the same as above only you will froth the milk and make your espresso as usual. Combine the coffee with the puree and spice, add milk and top with the whipped coconut cream!
